IN MEMORY OF BELOVED FORMER CENTRAL TEXAS MFSA CHAIR AND LIFELONG ADVOCATE FOR JUSTICE
Milton S. Jordan, Jr., 85, died December 23, 2025 in Georgetown, Texas.
Milton is survived by his wife Anne and their children Trey Jordan (Kathy), Jennifer Walt (Jim), Joanna James (Joanne), Andy James (Jacqueline), Micah Jordan (Laura), Josh Jordan (Nicole); also his sister Sarah Baker (Bob). He was proud of twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Milton graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, and Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He served as a United Methodist pastor in Idaho, Oregon, and Texas churches. Always concerned about justice issues, he was involved in the Methodist Federation for Social Action, Texas Impact, reconciling ministries, and most recently in Prosper Georgetown, an effort to promote a living wage for the workers in our community. A published poet, his poems often reflected this same commitment. He enjoyed monthly readings with friends in the Texas Poetry Assignment, where some of his poems appear.
Milton and Anne loved their road trips around the United States; he used paper maps.
Memorial services were held in Georgetown at Wellspring United Methodist Church, 6200 Williams Drive, on January 31st.
